The body of this lamp is made up of a stack six cone shaped 3d printed plastic components. The middle four are identical; each with a hole in the middle for the lightbulb and four supports to support the section about it. The top component has no hole so that the lightbulb is not visible, and no supports as there is nothing on top of it. The bottom has additional space to house the socket and knob. When turned off, the white plastic of the lamp looks and feels almost like a seashell. When turned on, the lamp glows with a warm light. The inorganic structure of this lamp, combined with its identical, repeated components, reflects its 3d printed nature and increases its manufactured feel. Rejecting a handmade feel and embracing a futuristic, mass produced character, this lamp encourages hard work more than relaxation.
